Abstract:Owing to the great difherence between English and our native language, we meet with quite a few difficulties in mastering English idioms. In order to develop our capacity for comprehending and using English, we have to try our best to study English idioms at length. English idioms come from such a great many diverse sources as Bible, Greek mythology, clas-sic works, ancient customs, famous wars, anecdotes about eminent persons, people's daily lives and so on. English idioms, which are brief and concise, have formed and been perfected for scores of decades. If properly used, they will make all the statements vivid and attractive.
