中文摘要: 多媒体技术是计算机领域中一个极其重要的研究方向，而同步控制是每一个多媒体系统必须考虑的因素。基于WWW上存在的多媒体同步控制问题，实例化地分析了W3C制定的SMIL语言的功能目标，介绍了目前国际上针对SMIL的实现技术研究情况，描述了作者定义的基于WWW的同步多媒体点播系统SMOD的模型层次，并指出了SMIL的发展在WWW上的重要意义。

Abstract:Multimedia technology is a very important direction in computer research area,the synchronizing control is a factor that must be considered in every multimedia system.Based on the question of multimedia' s synchronizing control on WWW,the goal of SMIL formulated by W3C is analysed in examples,the research status of SMIL' s implementation in the world is introduced,and the model of SMOD system which is defined by the authors is described.Finally,the important value of SMIL' s development on WWW is summarized.
