Abstract:The development stages,characteristics and objectives of Smart Grid are summarized, five key technologies and four system institutions are introduced,the similarities and differences between Internet of Things and Smart Grid are explained in detail with focus on the application of Internet of Things in Smart Grid. Finally it is predicted that the Internet of Things technology will penetrate into the development of Smart Grid,playing a role in promoting in the development of Smart Grid.
