中文摘要: 习语是语言中经过人们长期使用而提炼出来的词组、短语或短句,是语言中的精华,因此,习语翻译不仅要译出源语习语的形象、喻义、修辞,还要译出其民族特色和地域色彩.只有通过深入研究,比较汉英两种语言、两种文化的异同,并在翻译实践中避免种种不正确的方法,才能准确地翻译习语.
Abstract:Idioms are special phrases or short sentences which are the frequently used creams of a language. One must face the difficulties of languages and cultures at the same time in translation of idioms. Not only must one introduce into the target language the images, metaphors and rhetorical devices of the source language, but reveal its national features and regional flavors as well. Only through careful study and comparison between the Chinese and English languages and cultures, and avoiding various incorrect approaches to translation can one translate the idioms correctly and accurately.
