Abstract:This paper consists of two parts.In the first part, it groups Confucius views on political ethicsinto six points, one being “the ruling class guided by and confined to virtue and moral will win the favorof the ruled, just like polaris being surrunded by thousands of stars.” In the second part, it throws lighton the contemporary significance suggested in these views, including 1.“rule of virtue”, which should bemade one of the leading principles in running the country ;2.moral cultivation of officials, which shouldbe strengthened ;3.an environment favorable for fostering officials of virtual should be created.
