Abstract:There exit some disadvantages in the traditional exam-oriented English teaching method in a globalization context. The paper argues that teachers of English should try to update their concepts in terms of the teaching objective, methodology and their role, that they should make efforts to construct and develop the system of creativity-centered capacity characterized by the capacity of absorbing alien culture, of lauguage skills, of creative scientific research, and of utilizing modern educational technologies in order to meet the challenge of the globalization era.
